What is a double fault in tennis?

Double faults are counted in match statistics as errors on serve. Most come from a second serve hit too cautiously or too hard under pressure.

The fix isn't to slow the arm down. A reliable second serve keeps the same swing speed and uses more spin, which gives the ball the net clearance and the drop it needs.
