What does ATP stand for in tennis?
The ATP was founded in 1972 as a players' association and has run the men's tour since 1990. It organises the ATP Tour, the ATP Challenger Tour and the ATP rankings.
The four Grand Slams are run separately, and the ITF governs the rules of the game and team events such as the Davis Cup.
